| Oleo roll backdrop. The drop measures approximately: 8'-0" high x 13'-6" wide. As an artist, Anderson's favorite subject matter was water landscapes with birch trees. His backdrop illustrated here obviously provides a simuliar theme. The painting surface is (6'-9" wide nuslin, sewn with a vertical seam. The painting medium seems to be a casein product which would have been readily available for Anderson in 1927. The drop, to this day, is in very good condition, and is rolled up and down with little to its structure. |
