Question about Study Problems: The problems listed above " Worked Examples and odd-numbered problems in text" and the website quizzes are an integral part of your study. They are not to be turned in.

They count in the grade indirectly to the extent that they help you understand and learn the material and then do well on quizzes and exams. When I assign homework that counts for points, I will do so on an Assignment Sheet; no HW has been assigned yet.

Laboratory

  • Expt 1A: Endothermic and Exothermic Reactions
  • Expt 1B: Density and Graphing
• Students who did not attend last week: Complete the Check-in procedures and then Expts 1A and 1B. You must also watch the Safety film and take the Safety quiz.
• Before coming to lab, prepare yourself and your Lab Notebook as described in the Lab Syllabus. Note that there are several tables to transfer to your Lab Notebook before you begin the lab.
• Students will work with a lab partner.
• Everyone must wear goggles in the lab at all times when experiments are in progress.

Discussion

You should take your textbook, calculators and questions to each Discussion.

This week, the focus is on Chapters 1.

Quiz 1 will be given in Discussion on the Course Syllabi and Chapter 1. Bring your calculator. No make up quizzes will be given.
