Cascading Style Sheets

Take a moment to notice the heading and the links on this page.

Now compare this page to another version....

Notice that

  • the links on this version of the page are not underlined, and that
  • they change when you roll your cursor over them, or that
  • the title has become orange, italics and in Arial font.

These and many more special effects are done with Cascading Style Sheets.

The power of CSS is not only that these changes appear on this one page, but automotically to any page you link to this Style Sheet.

Directions:

In your exercises folder, create a new folder called "css." In it, copy an HTML page and "assets" folder from another project or exercise. Try to choose a HTML page with lots of links.

See the in-class handout for details.
