You receive a participation score for each day the clickers are used. Your participation score for the semester is part of your course grade. The four lowest scores will be dropped after the eighth week. This includes any zeroes due to absences or malfunctioning clickers.
The Excel spreadsheet shows your percentage score for each lecture date when clickers are used, and your average score for those dates. A "0%" for a date indicates that no responses were received. Please contact me if you believe there is a problem with your responses being recorded.

Your clicker number and participation score will appear in eGradebook. The participation score in eGradebook will be updated after each hour exam.
If you are absent or if no responses are recorded due to a malfunctioning clicker, a zero is recorded for that session. The policy of dropping the four lowest scores is designed to allow for absences due to illness, interviews, excused absences, technical problems, etc. If you have extenuating circumstances (e.g., extended illness) please see the instructor. Excused absences may be granted in advance for official University functions. However, please note that class attendance takes precedence over other University activities, and excused absences in such cases should not be presumed.
If you are present in class and you believe your responses are not being recorded, have your clicker serviced prior to the next class meeting by taking it to Jason Davis in KPlz 146C. Please contact the instructor if you cannot resolve any problems immediately.
Short written quizzes given in class may be included as part of the participation score, and will be indicated in the spreadsheet as a quiz. Click on the links for quiz solutions.
