EXTRA CREDIT IDEAS
Extra credit is a great way to boost your grade if you need it. Few people tend to do it but those that do are glad they did! Here are some ideas. Remember though, these are just ideas. If you have a different idea you'd like to pursue, run it by us - we may like it! *Note: we do not assign a number of points to extra credit; we look at the quality of the work done and factor that into your final grade. For further explanation, see your TA or instructor.
* Volunteering? Keep a journal of your experience and reflect on it. How does it relate to this course?
* Read a good book lately? Write a D.A.R. (description, analysis, reflection) about what you read. Connect to it something we discussed in class or read in the textbook.
* Watch the news, read the newspaper or magazine, and look for relevant issues pertaining to education. What would you do about this issue?
* Write to your State representative about an issue in education you're concerned about.
* Interview a teacher or administrator and find out how they chose education as a career.
* Go back to your old elementary/middle/high school - what's changed? What's stayed the same? Why do you think these changes did or did not occur? Is it better?
* Visit a charter or magnet school. How is the school unique? What are your likes and dislikes of this system?
