Overall record of UMD lacrosse team at these sites 4-2.
My name is Todd Frykman and I am a junior mechanical engineering student at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, an athlete, a brother, a son, and a friend. In life I try to get the most out of everything I do. Whether it be going on trips with family or friends, playing sports, or coaching.
Experiencing new events with the people you love helps to bring personal connections to relationships. I cherish my friendships and family members. Sometimes those friends become like family and family members become best friends.
When playing sports there are so many emotions that come out; whether it is anger, frustration, joy, or inspiration. Experiencing all these emotions with a team makes you into a close group that is like a family. Competing for a common goal and going through adversity in a short intense time creates bonds that are similar to what families have.
I also get to experience this through coaching 7-8th grade lacrosse. I believe my favorite part of coaching is helping kids to get better at something that both them and I enjoy. Seeing a 12-13 year become a more confident and overall better person in the 3 month that I’ve coach them is inspirational.
Loving what you do and generally caring for people makes life great.
