INTRODUCTION

Now
that you've made the decision to participate in the
Study in England Programme–what have you gotten yourself
into?
If you are one of those who has never been to England before and are rather overwhelmed by the prospect, join the crowd! But take heart; there are many who successfully preceded you who had the same uncertainties that you are feeling. For most of you this will be the experience of your life to this point, and our goal is to make the road as smooth for you as we can.
This website is designed to give you basic advance information
about the Programme and your year abroad. We hope it
directs you to the places where you'll find the answers
to important matters. It will not give you every piece
of information you will need for the year. In fact,
most past participants acknowledge the importance (not
to mention the fun!) of learning many things on their
own. Most of the logistics of the programme are handled
for you, so all you need to do is come ready to experience
new cultures and new countries, with a good sense of
humor and an open mind.
Read the information on this website carefully and thoroughly.
It contains essential information about passports, tickets,
immunizations, courses, responsibilities, etc. These
are things you NEED TO KNOW. Share the information with
your parents. It is also available on the web at
www.d.umn.edu/~inteduc.
Then prepare yourself for a wonderful adventure!
Welcome to the Programme
