Academic Expectations for Participants in the UMD Study in England Programme

Students participating in the UMD Study in England Programme are expected to maintain a GPA of no less than 2.40. Failure to maintain this average may result in dismissal from the programme at the end of the first semester. This policy applies only to the UMD Study in England Programme. Determination of a participant’s academic standing with his/her home institution is the responsibility of that unit.

The academic schedule has been arranged to maximize opportunities for students to travel; classes meet Monday-Thursday, keeping 3-day weekends. Absence from class at any time is strongly discouraged. Absence from classes during the week before and the week after any programme break will not be tolerated and will result in signifigant grade reduction. Dismissal from the programme is a possibility.
