Announcing the Duluth Bassoon Ensemble!

This past spring, Dr. Campbell realized that there were far too many great bassoon players in the Twin Ports area to not be taking advantage of them. With that in mind, he founded the Duluth Bassoon Ensemble-a group of area bassoonists that meet once a week to rehearse music for varying size ensembles. Included in the group are Dr. Campbell and his students at UMD, area band directors who are bassoonists and several players who continue their pursuit of the bassoon for fun, even though they have jobs in unrelated fields like education and pschology.

The ensembles first performance occurred on May 6, 2007 in Weber Music Hall on UMD's campus and featured seven performers. Currently, the DBE is on summer break, but we will resume rehearsals in Fall of 2007. Please check back for more information on rehearsals and performances. If you are a bassoonist and are interested in joining the group, please contact Dr. Campbell.
