EDUC 5236  Environmental Education for Teachers

 

Course Information

This course provides an introduction to environmental education. The purpose of this course is to help those who are or will be teaching in schools or in nonformal settings develop the knowledge and skills for providing quality EE for students in the formal classroom setting. The emphasis is on EE curriculum materials, resources, and programs that can be used with students in settings at or near their schools. Additional emphasis will be on using the outdoor winter environment as a source of learning opportunities and environmental education experiences. *Note: This course assumes you already know how to write goals, objectives, and lesson plans (if you are a recreation major, you should have taken Recreation Programming or Outdoor Education Methods prior to this course).
