Twentieth Century Literature
This course is an introduction to the study of modern and postmodern literature, focusing on the American, English and Irish literary traditions. As a liberal education course, it is designed to encourage the habit of critical thinking, to develop analytical skills in discussion and writing, and develop in students an appreciation of literature in a variety of genres. We will study poems, novels, stories, and a play.
