Blindsight Issue #3
- Theme: Child abuse and child predators
- A week before design entries are due, we will have an informal critique of them as well as a demo on how to set up the document for submission
- We had a brainstorming session for design ideas on this topic. Here is what we came up with:

T-shirt Design Contest Fundraiser
- SDO will hold a contest for the best art/design related t-shirt design
- Entries are due Wednesday, Oct. 11 - we will vote for the winning design at our meeting
- The winning design will be printed on shirts and sold in order to raise money for SDO
- Specs: one color (a dark color printed on a light-colored shirt works best), should be related to art/design in some way or call attention to UMD School of Fine Arts, SDO logo should be somewhere in your design (this can be downloaded here), and the dimensions should be no more than 12”w by 18”h, a suggested size is 10” by 10” since it works really well
2nd Annual Student Design Competition
- SDO needs promotional materials for this year’s design competition
- We are now holding a competition for the promotional poster
- Winning designer’s poster will be printed, and designer will be able to design other various promo materials based on their poster
- Poster entries are due Wednesday, Oct. 25
- We will hold a group crit on the posters on Wednesday, Oct. 11
- The Student Design Comp. show will be Feb. 6, 2007 - we are still waiting on the due date for design entries, etc.
Fall Studio Tours
- Friday, November 10
