- Tonight was the last night to join SDO at a reduced price. If you would still like to join SDO, the fee is $15 for the rest of the semester, and then $10 for next semester.
T-shirt Design Contest
- Congratulations to Ben Dunbar, who won the t-shirt design contest. We will be scheduling a time to screenprint these designs on t-shirts soon.
The Roaring Muse - Literary Guild
- The literary magazine, The Roaring Muse, is accepting photo and illustration submissions to be printed in their next issue. Email litguild@d.umn.edu for info. or to submit your artwork.
Poster Contest for the 2nd Annual Student Design Competition in progress!

Blindsight #3 Information
- Theme: child abuse & child predators
(refer to Meeting #3 minutes for our brainstorming session ideas)
- Entries are due Wednesday, November 15
- 8.5? x 11" full-bleed
- Black & white only
- Entry may be as direct or abstract as desired, as long as it is based on the theme in some way. Be as creative as you?d like! Just remember to include some element of typography in your image since this is a design publication- not an art publication.
- Entry must be submitted in print form along with the digital file (on CD).
- Entries designed in Illustrator, InDesign, or Quark should be saved as a PDF. Convert text to outlines.
- Entries designed in Photoshop should be 300 dpi and be saved as a JPEG or TIFF.
- Any number of entries may be submitted for consideration, but some entries may not be published due to limited space. Entries that do not follow the guidelines will not be considered for publication.
- Entry submission is free for official SDO members. The entry fee for non-members is $2 (any number of entries may be submitted under this initial fee).
- The Blindsight Entry Form, which needs to be submitted with each design entry, will be available soon!
