Level 1 Artifacts

APAS
Knowledge Outcomes. Review the APAS to determine whether a student has successfully completed the necessary courses to move to Level 2. The necessary courses to complete include Categories ___ and ___, plus CSD 1100, 2300, 3131, ....
Review of article
Knowledge Outcomes. This assignment consists of reading an article either selected by the student or required by an instructor and writing a review of this article. Some instructors will have specific expectations of the review while others will simply request anecdotal comments. Either review is acceptable for placement in the Portfolio. In some instances and instructor will include a rubric evaluation. This should also accompany the article review. Read all or part of the article review and take note of the student's writing skills as well as his/her ability to integrate knowledge on this topic within the body of the review.
Candidacy Papers
Knowledge Outcomes. A student must have a scanned copy of their candidacy papers in the portfolio. Check to be sure that all necessary signatures are present.
Case Study
Knowledge Outcomes, Clinical Outcomes. The reviewer should read the case study and assess the student's ability to synthesize academic knowledge and clinical application in the written form.
Language analysis
Knowledge Outcomes, clinical outcomes. Students in CSD 3131 Language Development course are responsible for completing a comprehensive language sample analysis. Portions of this analysis (not necessarily all of it) and documented feedback from he professor are appropriate for this artifact. Reviewers should be looking for a corrected version of the language sample analysis. comments from the instructor are optional.
Observation Comments
Knowledge Outcomes, Clinical Outcomes. The reviewer should read the observation comments to see if the students demonstrates evidence of emerging knowledge and skills in the profession as well as the development of his or her writing skills.
Personal Information
Determine whether a student has completed the "Personal Information" section of his/her Portfolio. this isn't necessarily and all or nothing task, but the reviewer should be looking for several items in the personal information section.
Phonological Analysis
Knowledge Outcomes, Clinical Outcomes. Students in CSD 3200: Articulation and Phonological Disorders course are responsible for completing a comprehensive language sample analysis. Portions of this analysis and documented feedback from the professor are appropriate for this artifact.
Standardized Test Review
Knowledge Outcomes, Clinical Outcomes. This assignment consists of reviewing a standardized test either selected by the student or required by an instructor and writing a review of the test. Some instructors will have specific
Treatment Plan
Knowledge Outcomes, Clinical Outcomes. This document is the treatment plan that the student developed for the CSD 3241 course. It represents the session led by the student after having observed for a semester. Examine this document as a first attempt at writing a treatment plan.
Writing Sample
Knowledge Outcomes, Clinical Outcomes. Students must include a sample of writing rom a composition or equivalent course. Read a portion of this sample of writing and provide comments about the quality of the writing.
Clock Hour Form
Knowledge Outcomes, Clinical Outcomes. A student must have a copy of observation hours in the portfolio. It is not necessary that it be complete, but that it has been started. Ensure that this document is present in the portfolio.
Refection Statement
Knowledge Outcomes, Clinical Outcomes. Review the reflection essay to determine whether a student has successfully identified goals and objectives of educational and clinical experiences and assessed his/her strengths and weaknesses. The intent of reflection is to develop ongoing awareness of student's own thoughts, feelings, and actions that led to insightful change of behavior toward the development of student knowledge and skills.
Elective Artifacts
Knowledge Outcomes, Clinical Outcomes. All level one ePortfolios must include at least ONE elective artifact. Look at the list of possible elective artifacts to check that the student has one from that list. Link to list
