The Children's Garden philosophy is based on the ideas of different childhood theorists:
- Vygotsky, who believed that children learn from their interactions with others.
- Gardner's Multiple Intelligences give us different ways to teach to the different strengths of children.
- Piaget believed the teacher was a facilitator of learning.
We put these theories into action by creating a social, multicultural setting where children are encouraged to learn, play, and explore their surroundings in a safe environment. We provide many different and stimulating ways to learn here: through music, reading, movement, speaking, art, and outdoor activities. The teacher is a facilitator for learning at our center. They will gently guide the children in the correct direction without choosing a solution for them. Mistakes are a necessary part of learning and our teachers will help children to profit the most from them.
