Daily Routines
The Children's Garden uses an adapted Creative Curriculum. This curriculum emphasizes the importance of 5 major routines that should learn to expect and rely on. They include
- Hellos and Goodbyes
- Diapering and Toileting
- Eating and Mealtime
- Sleeping and Naptime
- Getting Dressed
- Adapted from Introduction to Creative Curriculum for Infants and Toddlers
These 5 specific routines are essential to your child's development. They are evident at our center every day.
A typical infant day will look like this
- 6:30 am --The Children's Garden welcomes children for the day
- 7:30 am --Breakfast is served
- 9:30 am --Morning naptime
- 11:00 am --Lunch is served
- 2:00 pm --Snack
- 2:15 pm Afternoon naptime
- 6:30 pm --The Children's Garden says goodbye to their friends for the night
Each infant's schedule will be different when entering our center. Bottles will be given when needed, as well as naps to younger infants. The center's goal, with older infants, is to work towards an easy transition into the toddler room by matching their schedules as much as possible before their move.
For our toddlers, a typical day would look like this
- 6:30 am --The Children's Garden welcomes children for the day
- 7:30 am --Breakfast is served
- 11:30 am --Lunch is served
- 12:00 pm --Naptime
- 2:30 pm --Snack
- 6:30 pm --The Children's Garden says goodbye to their friends for the night
Toddlers who are potty-training will be toileted every hour to ensure success. Diapers will be checked and/or changed every 2 hours, or as needed throughout the day.
Other activities that Creative Curriculum emphasizes are what fills up the rest of our day. The 8 activities include
- Playing with toys
- Enjoying stories and books
- Tasting and preparing foods
- Outdoor play
- Art
- Imitating and pretend play
- Exploring sand and water
- Fun with music and movement
