Strawberries
Romanoff
4 cups strawberries
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons Grand Marnier
1 cup vanilla ice cream
2 cups heavy cream
Remove the stems from the strawberries, then cut the berries in half
lengthwise. Place in a bowl and sprinkle with the orange juice, sugar
and liqueur. Cover and refrigerate for 2 to 8 hours. Just before serving
soften the ice cream in the microwave for 15 to 20 seconds. Using chilled
beaters and a large chilled bowl whip the cream until stiff peaks form.
Beat in the softened ice cream.
Divide the strawberries and their juices among 8 bowls or
wine glasses. Top each serving with a generous amount of the cream and
serve immediately.
