What is UMD Seminar?
UMD Seminar is a one- or two-credit course that helps students make a successful transition to UMD. The course creates connections among students, with faculty, and to the campus. A number of different versions of UMD Seminar are offered, but they all have the same goal: to introduce new UMD students to the many academic, social, and personal opportunities the campus offers.
Who takes UMD Seminar?
UMD Seminar is open to all students, but is a requirement for students in the following UMD colleges:
- College of Education and Human Service Professionals
- College of Liberal Arts
- Labovitz School of Business and Economics
- School of Fine Arts
Transfer students entering UMD with 30 or more credits are not required to take the Seminar course.
