What does it mean to "request accommodations in a timely manner"?

When you request an accommodation, it takes us some time to get all of the pieces together.  We may need to communicate with your professor, arrange a proctor for your exam, order a CD of your textbook, or track down the publisher of your textbook.   Even in this age of instant communication, turn-around time and waiting for a response are not instant.

Use the following guide as an estimate (sometimes it may be longer) of the time it will be from making your request until experiencing your accommodation.

Accommodation Minimum Time
Accommodated test 5 work days after form is returned
TBA or test change  2 work days
Alternate format text 2-4 weeks
Classroom note taker 2 weeks
Interpreter 1 week
FM system 1 week
