Beginning Fall 09, DR Disability Specailists, after meeting with each student to discuss their Fall Semester accommodations, will write a Letter of Accommodation (LOA) outlining those accommodations. The LOA will be e-mailed to the student who will print a copy for each professor. The student then gives a copy of the letter and all appropriate accommodation requests forms to the professors for discussion and completion of the request forms.

This change in procedures will enpower students advocate for themselves and manage their own accommodations. It will give the professors better understanding of students with disabilities and more input into the accommodation process. DR sees this change as a win-win!
