Test
Accommodation
Policies
The Office of Disability Resources provides reasonable and appropriate test accommodations to qualified students with disabilities. This requires teamwork among DR staff, faculty, and students. Noncompliance with policies may result in delays in the testing process or sending students back to the classroom.
1. Students are expected to take exams on the dates provided by faculty on the Test Accommodation Request Form. Any changes to this must be made in writing. A change made by the student for personal reasons requires the professor's signature.
2. It is the student's responsibility to submit all changes to the DR test center.
3. All changes must be made at least 1 working day before the exam is administered.
4. Failure to provide adequate notice may result in the student being sent to the classroom for that exam.
5. Students who are tardy for their exam appointments will have the "late time" subtracted from their allotted testing time. Students who are more than 20 minutes late will be considered 'no shows' and will have to reschedule with the professor.
6. If a student fails to come in for the scheduled exam, the exam will be returned to the professor. Any make-up exam must be authorized by the professor.
7. All students are expected to abide by the academic honesty section of UMD's conduct code and will sign their acceptance of it. All exams will be proctored. Cell phones, backpacks, PDAs, ipods, etc will not be allowed in the test rooms.
8. Only those materials specified by the professor will be allowed in the testing rooms.
9. Visits to the restroom will be permitted only in emergency situations or with documented medical conditions.
