New! For Fall 2009

Accommodated testing such as extended time, a low-distraction testing environment, large print exams, an ASL interpreter, scribe, or reader, is provided to students with disabilities whose documentation warrents it. Accommodations may be provided by the instructor or exams may be administered in the DR test center.

To schedule accommodated exams through Disability Resources:

1. The student must meet with a DR disability specialist to determine specific accommodation needs.

2. The DR specialist gives the student one three-part test accommodation request form for each class in which accommodations are needed.

3. The specialist will write a Letter of Accommodation (LOA) to the professor and e-mail the file to the student.

4. The student prints a copy of the LOA for each professor. The student then meets with each professor and takes the LOA and request forms to their professors.

5. After discussion with the student, the professor completes and signs the request form.

6. Student brings completed request form to DR (KSC 258/260) at least three working days before the first exam. Forms that are incomplete will not be accepted.

7. Student employee will review test accommodation policies and procedures with the student and ask him/her to sign honesty statement and reminder form.

8. When a student makes arrangements to receive testing accommodations with the instructor in the department/classroom, it is not necessary for the student to turn in a test accommodations form.
