Faculty

 

A faculty member serves the University as a teacher instructing students, as a scholar adding to the fund of human knowledge, and as a citizen contributing special skill and knowledge through various forms of public service. There are five classes of regular faculty positions: adjunct instructor, professor, associate professor, assistant professor, and instructor.

 

STAFF

 

The people that serve the campus include professional student personnel workers, clerical workers, food service workers and a large number of individuals who work within units, offices and programs across the campus. UMD currently employs over 1,700 faculty and staff.
