Billing Statement Tuition bill notices sent via University-issued e-mail accounts at the beginning of each semester will direct you to a secure website to obtain your bill. Please monitor your account carefully for this information. You will have approximately three weeks from the date on the billing statement to the payment due date. Late fees will be charged for payments received after the due date. Your billing statement may include: tuition, the computer network access fee, recreational sports fee, an orientation fee, hospitalization insurance fee (unless waived), university fee, special course fees, and collegiate technology fees. Two optional fees are the MPIRG (MN Public Interest Research Group) and the SLC (Student Legislative Coalition). International Student Financial Aid The University of Minnesota Duluth offers two programs that provide substantial tuition benefits to high-achieving students. These scholarships and tuition waivers help make UMD more affordable for students from non-reciprocity states and other countries. Recipients will pay Minnesota resident tuition rather than non-resident tuition, resulting in a savings of over $12,000 per year. To qualify for the tuition waiver, new first-year students must show evidence of exceptional academic achievement. Consideration will be given to the academic record of each applicant in relation to the educational system of his or her native country. New transfer students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. All students must have a minimum score of 213 on the computerized Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The tuition waiver is renewable if the student remains in good academic standing and is making normal progress toward a degree. Three full tuition scholarships are awarded each year to qualified international applicants.
