The UMD Library opened on September 1, 2000. It was built at a cost of $25.8 million. The Library and the Library Annex provide 167,570 gross square feet of space. The Library houses a collection of more than 750,000 volumes with access to over 20,000 journals in paper or electronic formats. Each floor has computers with internet access, with over 300 in the library. The entire library has wireless internet access. There are also group study rooms available. Fun Fact:
