Department of BiologyThird floor Biology space includes offices for faculty and graduate students, six instructional laboratories, and two research laboratories. Other Biology space includes two greenhouses, two 200-seat lecture halls, and ground level support facilities. The Department of Biology also occupies space in the Swenson Science Building which is connected to the third floor of the Life Science Building by a skywalk. The Biology Department provides instruction and research experience for undergraduates and graduates as part of the liberal education program, preparation for graduate school, and/or as a sound basis for a professional training in the biological, environmental, and health sciences. This department also covers many of the pre-professional programs offered by the University. College of Pharmacy, DuluthThe College of Pharmacy occupies both the first and second floors of the Life Science building. It is part of the only doctor of pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program in the state and is identical to the four-year program on the Twin Cities campus. Each year, approximately 60 students are admitted to Duluth where they have an opportunity to experience innovative technology, state-of-the-art research and learning labs, and dedicated study space.
