The Tweed Museum of Art, established in 1950, collects and interprets art from around the world. From formal lectures to lively hands-on programs, the museum develops programs for education in the arts. Over 6,000 objects make up the permanent collection, and 8-10 special exhibitions are organized each year. In addition, Art and Design students' work is displayed each week in the Studio Gallery. A variety of educational opportunities are available, including guided tours, Family Day events and internship programs. Student volunteers, interns, and work-study students are an important part of the museum's staff. The museum store features a unique selection of art books, cards, jewelry and gifts. Fun Fact:
