Visit UMD

Come for a Visit. Leave a Bulldog!

The Office of Admissions believes that campus visits are an essential part of any college search, and so we invite you to come explore UMD. We know you will be impressed with our campus, the friendly UMD community, and our beautiful city by the lake. So don't just read about it -- visit UMD and catch Bulldog fever!

Capacity for tours and visit programs is limited and will fill up early during peak visiting times. To avoid disappointment, be sure to schedule your campus visit with us as soon as possible.

Campus Tours

Campus tours include a brief presentation from an admissions representative and a campus tour from a student volunteer. Tours are available most weekdays (M-F) during the academic year and summer months. Availability of tours during UMD breaks will vary.

In addition to the tour, you may also schedule an appointment with an admissions counselor. With at least two weeks notice, academic, athletic, and campus partner appointments may be arranged. Appointments are subject to departmental availability.

Campus Visit Programs

Campus visit programs give you and your family additional information about UMD academic programs, campus organizations, and departments. Programs include a brief presentation from an admissions representative, a campus tour from a student volunteer, and a resource fair to meet with representatives from our collegiate units and campus partners.

Visit programs are typically available on Fridays during the summer and fall months, as well as select Saturday mornings during the fall.

Self-Guided Tours

If you are unable to visit us during our campus tours, you are welcome to take a self-guided tour. Other than semester breaks or university holidays, many of our campus buildings are open for you to walk around and explore.

Self-guided tour booklets are located at the Solon Campus Center information desk. You can also download a copy along with the Self Guided Tour Booklet & Campus Map (.pdf). A mobile-friendly version is available here. Look for the QR codes posted around campus.
