In the Limelight … 1975

        Class of 1975                 Cadre in 1975


- ROTC was reorganized under the new College of Letters and Science

- The IG found all areas inspected to be satisfactory

- 23-member Angel Flight received the number one national award, the Purdue Cup, awarded annually to the flight which best fulfills the Angel Flight mission, and also earned the Samuel E. Anderson Award given to the flight with best helps to further  objectives of the Arnold Air Society. Selected from 125 flights, based on campus activities, contributions, as well as participation in the community. Flight also won the Anderson Award in 1972, the only repeat winner

- Ernest Kiehn was Commander, Arnold Air Society, with Donald Pressnall, Deputy Commander

- First joint military ball was held between Det 420 and Det 930 cadets and cadre. Guests were Mayor Beaudin, UMD Provost Ray Darland and UWS Chancellor Carl Meyer.  UMD Jazz Ensemble provided the music.

- Provost’s Merit Award, recognizing the outstanding senior cadet, was presented to Cadet Curtis Neal
