John Bielenberg is a designer, educator and entrepreneur, founder of C2 Design in San Francisco, as well as the Bielenberg Institute at the Edge of the Earth in Belfast, Maine and also Virtual Telemetrix, Inc. (VT) which is a pseudonym he uses to produce ongoing satirical projects related to the practice of graphic design and Corporate America. Seven VT projects are in the collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He has taught at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco since 1991. He also directs “Project M”, a program that strives to inspire young creative individuals that their work can have a significant and meaningful impact on the world. John is on the board of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). He has received numerous awards of national and international scope. Among them, recognition from Graphics Magazine, Communication Arts, the Type Director’s Club, and the American Center for Design. In addition to SF-MOMA, his work is held by the Library of Congress, the Chicago Athenaeum, and is featured in numerous books. John was inducted into the Alliance Graphique Internationale in 2003.
