Nathan Budoff & Raul Cristancho appear in conjunction with an exhibition of their work at the Duluth Art Institute (opens December 9th). Budoff, a graduate of Amherst and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, currently lives and works in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Christancho is a native of Colombia. In 1999, the pair mounted an exhibition entitled “Pendulo de las Americas” at the Centro Colombo Americano in Medellin, Colombia. Both have shown their work widely and have been reviewed individually. Nathan has received several grants from the National Endowment for the Arts as well as a Fulbright Fellowship, which allowed him to teach and paint in Colombia. His work is held in the collections of the Museo de Historia Antropologia y Arte at the University of Puerto Rico and the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo among others. Raul’s figurative paintings have received critical support in the Colombian publications: El Nuevo Siglo, El Mundo and El Tiempo.
