Bill Shipley is a graduate of UMD, and will address the work of his lifelong partner, Les Bohnenkamp, whose layered paper sculptures will be featured in the exhibition “Spirals in Space and Time: The Art of Les Bohnenkamp”. Bill himself is a painter and educator, recently retiring from a 30-year career teaching at New York City’s Trinity School. Through Bill Shipley Fine Arts, he has been involved in the business aspects of art production, working with dealers, artists and curators. He currently lives in Duluth where he continues to paint and has been active as the founding member of Q&A, an alumni organization for gays and lesbians and their allies.
