Students may apply for admission to candidacy in the pregraduate art major
through portfolio and transcript review by faculty upon completion of
18 credits earned in the studio art courses. Upon acceptance into candidacy,
the student will be assigned a pregrad art major advisor from one of the
areas in which the candidate's primary interest resides.

The Studio Art emphasis allows a student to focus upon a particular area
of interest within the visual arts and to produce an extensive body of
work. Students accepted into this emphasis are using the more traditional
art materials/media, but may also elect some digitally-based coursework. areas of concentration

art & technology
The Art & Technology emphasis allows a student to focus upon a particular
area of interest within the visual arts to produce an extensive body of
work which is digitally-based. Students accepted into this emphasis are
focusing upon new technologies and electronically/ digitally-based media,
but may elect some courses involving more traditional media.
