Photo Alliance is an organization dedicated to the love of photography, including methods of traditional, non-traditional, and digital. It was started to enrich the current photography program at UMD by widening the scope of education that a student can receive. In the current program, traditional black & white and digital classes are the only options of learning.

Photo Alliance provides one alternative process workshop per semester to give the students, faculty, and local community a chance to learn methods of photography that are rarely seen today, but were practiced in photography’s early invention.
