Note that these pertain to receiving a police ticket for underage
consumption or possession of alcohol and are not Housing sanctions

	Duluth Courts		UMD Student Conduct Code
First Offense	-$182 fine	plus	-$75 alcohol education class -chemical dependency evaluation if student is taken to detox or hospital
Second Offense	-$282 fine (up to judge’s discretion) -court appearance required	plus	-chemical dependency evaluation -probation
Third Offense	-$382 fine (up to judge’s discretion) -court appearance required	plus	-counseling -research paper -possible suspension or expulsion
Fourth Offense	-fine is up to judge’s discretion -jail time possible -court appearance required	plus	-suspension or expulsion from University

Parental Notification

Parents may be notified on serious cases (e.g., student goes to hospital or detox), when a student receives a second underage consumption ticket, or if the University is concerned about the student's well-being.
