Research Interests
The Dahl lab is interested in examining the ability of bacteria to survive stressful conditions.
Mycobacteria comprise a number of major pathogenic species that survive for long durations within human hosts; Dr. Dahl explores the stringent response, a mechanism mycobacteria use to survive inside the host. He will also explore the unique structures and proteins of stress-resistant myxobacteria spore; myxobacteria are non-pathogenic, soil-dwelling microbes.
