UMD
The objective of the Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club is to provide students with an opportunity to meet others with a common career goal and to provide information about admission to veterinary medical schools. This is accomplished through a variety of social and educational events.

Past Events:
Activities from past years include a behind the scenes tour of the Lake Superior Zoo where we learned about feeding habits, viewed X-rays, and examined blood samples. We have gone on trips to the North Shore Veterinary Hospital to view and learn about alternative methods such as acupuncture and herbal treatments. We have had the opportunity to speak with area vets during the Veterinarian Panel Discussion. We annually venture down to the Twin Cities to take part in the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine open house and receive a tour of the facilities from a former UMD student. We have held bake sales to raise money for local animal shelters. We also have 'just for fun' activities like a fall pumpkin carving party.
