HIGHLIGHTS OF THE CLASS OF 2001 - 2002
The data for this report were collected through mail and e-mail surveys and follow-up telephone calls and is accurate as of January 2003. The office of Career Services surveyed alumni who received undergraduate degrees from UMD between July 1, 2001 and June 30, 2002. This report is based on responses from 970 graduates (85% of the reported 1147 undergraduate students granted degrees during the designated time frame). Of the 970 respondents, 889 (92%) reported "employed" or "continuing education,"• 744 (77%) reported "employed,"
• 145 (15%) reported "continuing education."
Of the 744 employed, 740 (99%) responded to a question about the relevance of their jobs to their majors, with 561 (76%) reporting employment "related" or "somewhat related" to major,
• 415 (56%) reported employment "related" to major,
• 146 (20%) reported employment "somewhat related" to major.
Of the 744 employed, 588 (79%) reported accepting employment in Minnesota.
Of the 970 respondents, only 57 (6%) reported that they were still seeking employment.
