Supportive Services Program (SSP)
Student Life
The Supportive Services Program (SSP) serves the UMD community through classes, workshops, academic advising, teaching assistant training and opportunities, and the UMD Tutoring Center. Lower division courses are designed especially for first-and second-year undergraduates. They include academic skills development in writing, mathematics, study strategies and college learning and a personal development course that emphasizes self-concept and human relationship. Courses are devoted to helping students gain academic skills in a small class environment to help ease the sometimes rocky transition to university academics.
