Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)

Academic Administration

UROP offers financial awards to undergraduates for research, scholarly, or creative projects undertaken in partnership with a faculty member. The program affords undergraduates the unique educational experience of collaborating with a faculty member on the design and implementation of a project, while at the same time giving faculty the opportunity to work closely with students and receive valuable assistance with their own research or professional activity. UROP adds new dimension to the undergraduate experience by encouraging students to conduct research and pursue academic interests outside of their regular courses through compensated work on special projects. UROP applications are judged on the quality of the proposed project and educational benefit to the student. For more information and applications, contact UROP coordinators in college offices.
