Course Web Page: The course web page is at http://www.d.umn.edu/~jgallian/beatlesinif07.html. The web page has a course syllabus that includes the weekly assignments, the final exam questions, the grading procedures, recommended web sites, and library resources. Sample reports that you can use as models for your reports are also available on the web page.

Text: None. Assigned readings are online.

Other Course Material: Besides online readings, the weekly assignments may include listening to CDs, viewing videos or DVD's. Most CDs, videos, and DVD's are on overnight reserve at the library. A few are on three-day reserve. The articles are available online with links on the course web page.

Grading: The course grade in based entirely on the written reports of the weekly audio/video and reading assignments and the final exam. Details about what is expected in the reports, when they are due and how letter grades are determined are provided in the course syllabus.

Remark: In this independent study course, it is important that you do not wait until shortly before the due date to begin the assignments. Starting near the due date will not leave you enough time to write thoughtful reports and it is likely that the library audio/video material you will need will not be available from the library.
