Course Welcome from Instructor: Thank you for registering for Fall 2007, University of Minnesota Duluth course, EnEd 5555, Section 200, 2 credits, ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION FOR PRACTICING EDUCATORS. This course is offered through Continuing Education (CE) as an Individualized Instruction Course (INI). Instructor: Thomas Boman, Ph.D. Please contact Dr. Boman via email at your earliest convenience regarding your course work or to receive any significant changes in the operation of the course. This course is designed for the educator who has both an interest in protecting and improving the environment and who has opportunities to work with others on environmental issues and concerns. The class consists of a book, videotapes, and study guide. There are no class meetings, but you should talk with the instructor about the contract grading. You will receive updates and revisions to the study guide from your instructor via e-mail, so please check your UMD e-mail carefully as you complete the lessons. Students are expected to complete the class within 16 weeks. Students whose Distance Learning Course (DLC) completion dates fall after the end of the academic semester will have a temporary grade of I (incomplete) posted by the instructor. At the end of the 16-week period, the I is changed to a grade when the instructor submits a change of grade form. If you need more time, you can secure an Incomplete grade by completing an Incomplete Form available in the Department of Education Office, 120 MonH, and follow the instructions. |
