Continuing Education annually awards up to two $1,000 scholarships and up to three $1,200 scholarships to outstanding CE students. Those eligible to apply for the scholarships include undergraduate and graduate non-degree seeking students, admitted CE certificate program students, and master of science in engineering management students.
Up to two $1,000 Theresa Ann Neil Scholarships are awarded each academic year. Theresa Neil was director of Continuing Education from 1988 to 1994. Ms. Neil exemplified the lifelong learner, having completed both her bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration while employed at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Upon her death, an endowment was established to honor her commitment to, and support of, continuing education and learning throughout the life span.
Up to three $1,200 Robert Brownlee Scholarships are awarded each academic
year. The University for Seniors* Robert Brownlee Scholarships are made
possible through a generous bequest from Robert Brownlee, an active member
of University for Seniors who believed in the value of continuing education.
* University for Seniors, an Institute for Learning in Retirement,
is a peer-led, humanities-centered organization for older adults looking
for an intellectually vital continuing education program in an academic
environment.
