The University for Seniors Robert N. Brownlee Center is located on the University of Minnesota Duluth campus on Kirby Drive on the third floor of Kirby Plaza (look for the white arch entrance to Kirby Plaza).
Our designated space includes a small office for study group leaders and members, conference/classroom, plus two traditional classrooms (KPlz 303, 309 and 311).
The administrative office is located at 335 Kirby Student Center.
There are many alternatives for parking and/or attending classes here at UMD.
Pay Lot
Cost will be $2.00 or $1.50 with another passenger or if you use a debit card.
These “U” Cards can be purchased at a kiosk in Kirby Student Center
and/or in the Library. Cost for the card is $1.00 at the kiosk to which you
then can add any amount that you wish. When using the debit card, the amount
of transfer is subtracted from your total.
Two and Four hour Parking Meters.
These can be found through-out the UMD campus or located on a Campus Map found
on the bulletin board in the Hub at 305 Kirby Plaza. Parking at meters costs 25 cents for 20 minutes of time. USA quarters only. Dimes and nickels will not record valid time.
“Fare Cards” and/or “STRIDE” passes.
The Robert N. Brownlee Foundation continues to fund free Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) bus “Fare Cards” and/or “STRIDE” passes to our registered members for transportation to US study groups or sponsored
activities.
Maroon Parking Permits
Maroon parking permits are available for purchase to University for Seniors members. You will need a form of identification (UMD card or driver's license), vehicle information including license plate number, and cash or check in the amount of $140.00 for September - May. If you will not need the permit the entire time, it can be returned to Parking Services for a pro-rated refund.
Maroon permits are on sale August 17 through September 4, 2009 at the Cashier's window in the Darland Administration Building.
Disability Parking
Disability parking is allowed for up to three (3) hours at a space with a blue handicap parking sign and at all meters for those displaying a disability license plate OR a (temporary) disability permit.
University members needing a short-term UMD only disability permit for up to two (2) weeks should contact Parking Services for assistance.
