Journey
Jargons and Lectures are free, open to the public,
and they are held on select Mondays at 11:30 a.m.
Journey
Jargons

visited the wild animal park, lived with a family in Malowi, and observed
many cultural activities. This trip was led by a man on the boards of Books
for Africa and Eshoroe Community Action Group.
- October 27 –
“Living In Thailand” – KPlz 311
Sumlee Beede was born, raised, and attended school in Thailand.
She will share some general information about the Thai culture, celebrations,
economics, and educational system. Most importantly, she would like to bring
awareness to the audience of the unique culture of Thailand.
- November 10 –
“Where in the World is Mongolia?” – KPlz 311
Pat Castellano would like to tell you where in the world
Mongolia is and give you an opportunity to learn about a country not many
would choose to visit. Take a “picture journey” to the Land of
the Blue Sky. Learn more about the culture and traditional clothes and objects.
Hopefully this will encourage you to explore more.

became a major figure in the Oneota community that would later become Duluth.
- October 20 –
“Fire Safety and Fall Prevention” – Rafters
Ken Goosen will present information about protecting your
home from destructive fires, as well as information about how you can prevent
falls, which is one of the major factors in maintaining the health and well-being
of seniors.
- November 3 –
Burma Shave Lore: “Don’t loose your head to save a minute. You
need your head, your brains are in it.” – Rafters
How did this little Minnesota company find its way into American’s heart
and culture and finally into its business schools and even the Smithsonian
Museum? Bring your own Burma Shave memories and Judy McKim,
a family member, will add stories and video history from the 1920s, ’30s
