Liberal Arts
Undergraduate Certificate Program

If you want to gain knowledge in a variety of liberal education areas, this certificate is designed for you. Course work is selected from the UMD Liberal Education Program, which is the overall framework around which all UMD baccalaureate degree programs are designed. With careful planning, the certificate may constitute the freshman year of a degree program in liberal arts or business fields.

Transfer Courses: At least 75% of the certificate coursework must be completed at UMD to be eligible for any CE certificate program

Total Credits - 30

Part I. Language and Reasoning skills (9 credits)

Part III. Key Topics (9 credits)
Courses from Part I & Part II that have these symbols (¹²³) can be used to satisfy this 9 credit requirement.

c. Sustainability (3 crs)
