SUMMER 2008

CANCELING A COURSE

You must officially cancel your registration in any class in which you no longer intend to participate. Failure to attend class or stop payment on a check does not constitute cancellation. Unless you officially cancel, you will be responsible for full tuition and fees. You may drop a class by using the registration Web site, http://www.d.umn.edu/Register. Visiting summer students and Continuing Education students should contact CE Registration for assistance. Your cancellation is effective on the date you drop the class. Please note the refund schedule below.

REFUND POLICY

If you cancel any class prior to paying your tuition, you are responsible for tuition and fees based on the refund policy.

Note: Special consideration may be given for class cancellations due to medical problems, attendance at other academic institutions, rules of individual academic departments, active military duty, or disciplinary actions.

You must provide documentation for exemption from the refund policy and a petition. A refund of tuition and fees for May Session and Summer Session 2008 classes is granted according to the following schedules:

** INI (Individualized Instruction Courses): Unless otherwise noted in the course listing, refund dates are based on the date you register for the course. Since the time periods for this type of course are unique, you must contact Continuing Education staff at 218/726-8113 or in person at windows 1 or 2 in the Darland Administration Building lobby when canceling an INI course to ensure the refund is correctly based on the date of cancel.

** INI (Individualized Instruction Courses): Unless otherwise noted in the course listing, INI courses are 16 weeks in length and registration is permitted at anytime during the term. Deadlines are based on date of registration for the course. You must contact Continuing Education staff at 218/726-8113, or in person at windows 1 or 2 in the Darland Administration Building lobby when canceling a course.
