Three Masters Programs Available

The Master of Education is a cohort program designed for students who want to complete a degree while maintaining full-time employment. Core courses begin every fall and spring semester and are scheduled over two years. Students take electives primarily in summer terms. The cohort meets at least once, usually a Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday, at the beginning of the semester; these are required meetings. The remaining teaching and learning takes place in an online community.

A Master of Education with concentration in Environmental Education is a more traditional program in which students attend courses on campus, usually as full-time students, for two years. The program is designed in close cooperation with the Advisory Board for the Center for Environmental Education (CEED) and has an interdisciplinary flavor.

The Master of Special Education is a professional development degree for licensed special education teachers who are preparing to assume leadership roles in the field. It is a summer cohort program with courses delivered over three consecutive summers. Projects assigned during summer classes are completed during the fall semester in the special education classroom.
