Diane presented the rationale for the course as being a response to new state standards and licensure requirements. A specific course in assessment of autism is now required.

 

  • Change Subject to SPED
  • Check yes to graduate credit
  • # 11 should be independent study (new categorization scheme)

  • 20 Check no on computer access fee.
  • Diane will ask if proposed course duplicates existing courses for ASD certificate

In general, examine the proposal, including the catalog description, to determine if specific terms such as internet applets, moodle, and specific software could be replaced by more generic descriptions or modified by noting that existing technology cited in the proposal are examples of the technology that could be used to teach the concepts.

The general question was asked whether course descriptions for dual listed courses should be two separate catalog descriptions.  We will consult with EVCAA.  Also noted the Faith Loven and Mike Raschick are finishing their terms in June 2013.
