SALARY GUIDELINES

Annual base salaries for contract (full-time and part-time) faculty will be set within the following salary guidelines.

Educational Experience Annual Base
Master's Degree $35,000-$40,000
Doctoral Degree $40,000-$45,000
Range represents the spectrum of experiences and qualification (from essential to desired) of an applicant. Recommendation for salary above mid-range must include rationale of exceptional experience to warrant the salary level.

Figure workload percentage and total salary for less-than-full-time, non-regular faculty members (for contract letters) as follows.

For a full-year contract:

  • Divide the number of contact hours assigned for the year by the department workload average for contract faculty (150% of the department average); round up to two decimal places. This represents the workload percentage.
  • Multiply the base salary by the workload percentage to determine the year's salary.

For one semester:

  • Divide both department workload average (use one decimal) and base salary by 2 to get semester workload average and semester base salary.
  • Divide the number of contact hours assigned for the semester by the department semester workload average for contract faculty (150% of the department average); round up to two decimal places. This represents the workload percentage.
  • Multiply the base salary for one semester by the semester workload percentage to determine the semester's salary.
